Adi Cascade Frog

Adi Cascade Frog or Amolops adicola is a new species of Cascade Frog found at the Adi hills in northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh. The Cascade Frogs are named so as they prefer small waterfalls or cascades in flowing hill streams.
The newly discovered species is named after the Adi hills, the home of Adi tribes, where these frogs dwell especially during the post-monsoon season. Historically, this region was known as Abor hills. The Adi Cascade Frog has unique DNA, external morphology and calling pattern. It is predominantly brown in color with size ranging from 4 to 7 centimeter.
