Atal Innovation Mission partners with CGI to promote innovation among school students

Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, and CGI India has signed a Statement of Intent (SOI) on October 13, 2020. The SOI was signed  in order to boost the innovation across the schools. This partnership was a part of continuous support to AIM’s Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) initiative. They would be working towards creating a successful and innovative workforce.

Under the SOI, CGI will be adopting 100 schools. It will also set up  ATLs across Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai in order to promote and train students. CGI volunteers will be coaching and mentoring students at the ATLs. They would be working to enhance technical literacy and to provide immersive learning experiences among students using STEM tools. CGI would also be conducting training workshops for teachers at select schools on topics including design thinking, robotics, computational thinking and coding.

Atal Innovation Mission (AIM)

AIM is the flagship programme launched by the Government of India. The programme promotes a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship across India. Currently, the ATLs under AIM programme are accessed by some 2.5 million school students in India.

Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) initiative

ATL is a dedicated innovation workspace that has been set-up at schools. Under the initiative, students get access to do-it-yourself (DIY) kits. They also learn to tinker and create innovative solutions using the modern technologies.
