Cloudburst

Cloudburst is a sudden heavy rainfall that is usually localised in nature and very brief in duration. It sometimes involves breaking of a cloud that result in the release of huge amounts of water. Such a scenario occurs when the violent uprushes of air that prevents raindrop from reaching the ground weakens. Several cloudbursts occurred in Uttarakhand, leading to the flooding of houses and roads.
