Dimasa National Liberation Army

The Dimasa National Liberation Army is an insurgent group claiming to fight for the creation of a sovereign and independent nation representing the Dimasa tribe – an indigenous ethno-linguistic community concentrated in the northeastern states of Assam and Nagaland. They belong to the Indo-Mongoloid group, which also includes the Bodos and their allied tribes.
The DNLA was established in 2019 to develop a sense of brotherhood among the Dimasa society. Recently, the militant group unilaterally declared a ceasefire for six months. In response, the Assam government also decided to stop is operations against the outfit for one month.
