Dimasa National Liberation Army
The Dimasa National Liberation Army, an Assam-based two-year radical group, announced its launch in April 2019. It claims to have decided to rebuild the struggle of the nation and fight for the liberation of the sovereign and independent Dimasa nation.
The Dimasa tribe of India formed an armed revolutionary organization named Dimasa National Liberation Army, chaired by Naisodao Dimasa and Kharmindao Dimasa who is the Home Secretary. This organization aims to foster a feeling of brotherhood in Dimasa and to rebuild trust and faith in Dimasa society in order to regain the Kingdom of Dimasa.
However, this is not the first time there has been a call for an independent state of the Dimasa tribe. In the year 1991, Dimasa students were organized under the All Dimasa Student Union (ADSU). The All Dimasa Student Union is seeking for an independent, full-fledged nation by including all regions belonging to the ancient Kingdom of Dimasakachari in order to enjoy all constitutional rights and privileges and enable all developments.
Another radical group, Dima Halam Daogah (DHD), occurred in the Dimahasao region in the early 1990s. The DHD also called for the creation of a sovereign state. But in a short period of time, there was a difference between DHD executives, mainly focusing on the technology to follow in order to track demand. This ultimately led to the division of the DHD. Thus, the faction, led by Dilip Nunisa signed a ceasefire agreement with the Government of India on January 1, 2003, abandoning violence to this day.
