Ex Khaan Quest 2022 Peacekeeping Exercise: Key Features
A multinational peacekeeping exercise named “Ex Khaan Quest 2022” that features the participation of military contingents from 16 countries, including India has commenced in Mongolia. India is being represented by the Ladakh Scouts in this exercise. This exercise was inaugurated by Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, the President of Mongolia.
What does this exercise consist of?
The Khaan Quest 2022 is a peacekeeping operation exercise of 16 countries consisting of:
- A field training exercise of the United Nations Peace Keeping Operation Mission
- A command post-exercise of the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission
The exercises are being held at the Five Hills Training Area of the Mongolian Armed Forces. This exercise will also help in sharing of best practices between the participating Armed Forces and will include:
- combat discussions
- field training exercises
What is the aim of this exercise?
This exercise has been designed with the aim of improving the peacekeeping capabilities, enhancing the core UN doctrine PKO competencies, and strengthening the military-to-military relationships among all participants. This exercise will help in boosting the level of defence cooperation between the Indian Army and the participating countries, especially with the Mongolian Armed Forces, thus, enhancing bilateral relations between both countries. The 14-day exercise will also look to enhance the interoperability, military relationships, military readiness, and developing of peace support operations among the participating nations.
