Ex SAMPRITI-X: Key Highlights and Important Features

A joint military exercise named Ex SAMPRITI-X is being conducted between India and Bangladesh as part of the ongoing India-Bangladesh bilateral defence cooperation. This military exercise is being conducted at Jashore Military Station, Bangladesh from 5th June 2022 to 16th June 2022.

What is the aim of this exercise?

Exercise SAMPRITI is an important military exercise that is conducted by both nations with the aim of strengthening and widening the aspects of cooperation and interoperability between the armies of both nations. This exercise also aims to strengthen the interoperability between the two armies and to understand the operation techniques and tactical drills of each other. This exercise will present an opportunity for greater cultural understanding with the aim of strengthening cooperation and trust between the armies of both nations. The armies will be hugely benefited from each other’s vast experience which will boost peace and stability in this region.

Which contingent is representing India in this exercise?

India is being represented by a Battalion of the DOGRA Regiment. To participate in this exercise the contingent departed by road.

What events will be conducted under this exercise?

During this joint military exercise, the armies of both nations will be sharing expertise in various simulated scenarios of:

  • Humanitarian Assistance
  • Counter-Terrorism
  • Disaster Relief
  • UN Peacekeeping Force that is mandated by the UN

This exercise has been scheduled in such a manner that the participants will straight away get familiar with each other’s tactical drill and organizational structure. Also, joint tactical exercises will be conducted as a part of this exercise between the participating contingents of both armies. This exercise will culminate with a final validation exercise in which the troops of both participating armies will be jointly practicing a Counter-Terrorism Operation in a simulated environment. Through this exercise, best practices will be shared and both armies will develop a better understanding between them at the tactical level.
