The report “Fed to Fail? The Crisis of Children’s Diets in Early Life” was released on September 23 this year. It assessed the latest data and evidence on the status, trends and inequalities in the diets of children in the age group 6 to 23 months and barriers to nutritional trends. It used data from the UNICEF Global Database on Infant and Young Child Feeding.
According to the report, the quality of children’s diets differs starkly among different regions. Children in rural areas, poorer households and disadvantaged regions within countries have the least diverse diets.
