First Train Under ‘Bharat Gaurav’ Scheme: Important Features

Under the “Bharat Gaurav” scheme, the first train began its journey from Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu and will be going till Shirdi in Maharashtra.

When was the train flagged off?

This train was waved off on 14th June 2022 and it will be reaching Shirdi on 16th June 2022. On this train, 1100 passengers boarded for the round-trip journey from Coimbatore to Shirdi. With the launch of the train service, the Southern Railway has become the country’s first railway zone to onboard the first enlisted private service provider under this scheme.

Which organization is providing the service?

The service provider for the first train is South Star Rail. It is a company that is headquartered in Coimbatore. This organization is part of a multinational company named Future Gaming & Hotel Services Pvt. Limited. The organization paid Rs 1 crore as a security deposit to provide services for a 20-coach rake to the Southern Railway.
