What is the source of the recently detected hum in the universe?

Researchers have recently detected a resonant “hum” in the Universe. The cause of this phenomenon is attributed to the gravitational wave. The hum was reportedly detected by the North American Nanohetz Observatory for Gravitational Waves (NANOGrav). The signal is detected from a pulsar – a type of dead star flashing beams of radio waves from poles.
