Inflation Expectations Survey of Households (IESH)

The January 2021 round of the Inflation Expectations Survey of Households (IESH) was launched by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). It seeks to subjectively assess price movements and inflation from around 6,000 households based on their individual consumption baskets across 18 cities. These cities include Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi and Thiruvananthapuram. The results of this survey will be vital inputs for monetary policy.
