INS Tabar is a Talwar-class stealth frigate built by Russia for India Navy. The naval vessel is equipped with a versatile range of weapon and sensors. This ship is one of the earliest stealth frigates to be owned by the Indian Navy. It is currently part of the Indian Navy’s Western Fleet, which is based at Mumbai under Western Naval Command.
To improve defence ties with friendly countries, INS Tabar was mission-deployed in international waters for over three months from June 13 this year. During this deployment, the stealth frigate made 11 port calls in nine countries of Europe and Africa, travelling nearly 20,000 nautical miles.
