ISRO to deploy five communication satellites in 2017
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will be deploying five communication satellites in 2017 to meet the urgent need of transponder requirements of the country. The next communication satellite will be GSAT17 which will have 48 transponders. It will be followed by a SAARC satellite with 12 transponders. ISRO was also planning next generation communication satellites which will have increased number of beams, up to 32 beams. In January 2017, PSLV-C-37 will launch CARTOSAT-2 and a cluster of satellites.
