Kisan Diwas 2020

India celebrates Kiswan Diwas or National Farmers day on December 23 in the memory of Fifth Prime Minister of India Chaudhary Charan Singh, who took office from July 1979 to January 1980. Chaudhary Charan Singh is famous for introducing farmer welfare schemes and his support for farmers. He was part of Mahatma Gandhi’s non-violence movement and was the chief architect of Uttar Pradesh’s land reforms.
