Mission Vatsalya

Mission Vatsalya was launched by the Maharashtra Government to assist women who became widows because of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the state government, around 15,000 women lost their husbands because of the COVID-19 infection.
The initiative will provide around 18 benefits, schemes and services to such women from rural areas with socially and economically vulnerable backgrounds. The schemes include Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana, Gharkul Yojana etc. Government officials will be going to the homes of the recognized beneficiaries to provide these services.
