MoCA and DGCA Allowed NTPC To Use Drones For Research & Inspection.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) and Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has given permission to the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) to use drones to do research and inspection. This decision was taken on October 24, 2020.

  1. Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Station, Madhya Pradesh
  2. Gadarwara Super Thermal Power Plant, Madhya Pradesh and
  3. Sipat Super Thermal Power Project, Chhattisgarh

Benefits

NTPC will now be able to use the drones for the purpose of terrain mapping, stockpile volumetric analysis, aerial inspections and other applications at three sites. This would help NTPC to gather excellent data with high accuracy at the lowest cost.
