The Mars Oxygen In-Situ Resource Utilization Experiment (MOXIE) is a technology on board of NASA’s Perseverance Rover. It is capable of producing oxygen from the Martian atmospheric carbon dioxide using solid oxide electrolysis. Recently, it had produced 5 grams of oxygen from the Martian atmosphere. This is sufficient for an astronaut to breath for 10 minutes. This technology is capable of producing 10 grams of oxygen per hour.
