Mustafa Kemal Atatürk 2021

Mustafa Kemal Atatürk 2021 is a joint military exercise held between Turkish and Azerbaijani militaries. It is being held in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku. The exercise is named after the founder of modern Turkey – Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. It concluded on June 30, 2021.

As part of this drill, the two countries deployed tanks, helicopters and drones. The objective is to enhance the interoperability between the two armed forces. It sought to improve the decision-making and managing skills of the commanders. Approximately 600 soldiers participated in this exercise. The two countries had earlier inked the Shusha Declaration to boost the bilateral defence cooperation and connectivity.
