‘Ndrangheta

‘Ndrangheta is the most powerful organised crime syndicate (mafia) in Italy. The group is associated with narcotic drug (cocaine) supply that enters Europe from South America and other drug producing regions. The group makes use of shell companies and is estimated to have a turnover of 53 billion Euro per year. The country recently began its biggest trial against the group in 3 decades over offences ranging from money laundering to murder.
