Orunodoi Scheme

Orunodoi or Arunodoi Scheme is a direct benefit transfer scheme that was launched by the Assam Government in October last year to provide financial aid around 17 lakh families in the state. Under this scheme, women will be receiving the money a the beginning of each month, which can be used for purchasing medicines and nutritional food.
The state government had announced recently that the financial assistance under the Orunodoi Scheme will be increased from Rs.830 to Rs.1,000 from September 10, 2021. This was announced while launching various government schemes, which included financial aid to the heads of religious institutions, bus drivers, conductors and handymen in the state.
