PM Modi’s birthday: Seva Saptah organised
Every year, on Prime Minister Modi’s birthday that falls on September 17, Seva Diwas is celebrated. This year Seva Saptah has been organized to mark the PM’s 70th birthday. The Seva Saptah is observed between September 14, 2020 and September 20, 2020. Seva Saptah is also called a week of Seva.
The Gujarat Government is to launch projects and schemes to commemorate birthday of the prime minister. The Chief Minister of Gujarat is to launch cow-based organic farming wherein the government is to provide a monthly assistance of Rs 900 to the farmers. Also, Gujarat Government is to provide kits to farmer to make Jivamrut (natural fertiliser).
Also, water supply projects for 205 villages of Tapi and Narmada districts are to be launched. Rs 1,000 crores is to be provided to 10 lakh women in Gujarat to help them start their own business.
The Gujarat Government is to sign 10 Memorandum of Understandings on Climate Change.
The Seva Saptah is observed by the Bharatiya Janata Party to mark PM Modi’s birthday. The theme of Seva Saptah is “Seventy”. The party is to provide artificial limbs to 70 people, spectacles to 70 blind people, distribute fruits to 70 hospitals. Also 70 blood donation camps are to be organised.
Every year, the birthday of PM Modi is being celebrated as Seva Diwas. Surat is to plant 70,000 saplings to commemorate PM Modi’s birthday.
About PM Modi
HE served as the Chief Minster of Gujarat between 2001 and 2014. He brought in several reforms after becoming the prime minister. He abolished the planning commission system. He organised high-profile sanitation campaign. The prime minister brought in demonetisation campaign, weakened several environmental and labour laws.
Under his administration, the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was revoked. Also, he introduced the Citizenship Amendment Act.
PM Modi also brought in several changes to the Insolvency and Bankruptcy code.
