Samagra Shiksha Scheme

Samagra Shiksha Scheme is a centrally sponsored scheme that aims to improve the effectiveness of school education in terms of equal opportunities and equitable outcomes. It treats school education holistically without segregating different levels from pre-nursery to Class 12. It subsumes three schemes ? Sava Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Teacher Education (TE).
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved the revised Samagra Shiksha Scheme, which will be effective from 2021-22 to 2025-26 . The total outlay is Rs.2,94,283.04 crore. It covers 1.16 million schools, over 156 million students and 5.7 million teachers from government and aided schools.
