Shigellosis
The infection caused by the bacteria Shigella is called shigellosis. Its symptoms include diarrhoea, fever and stomach cramps. These symptoms would last for seven days. Shigellosis is a contagious infection that spreads from person to person by various means – even after infected person is cured of diarrhoea. It can even spread through surfaces, contaminated food, etc. Recently, Kerala reported the spread of this disease.
