Special Assistance to States for Capital Expenditure

Special Assistance for States for Capital Expenditure was launched to incentivize state governments to boost their capital expenditure despite facing revenue shortfalls amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Capital expenditure is critical in ensuring enhancement of productive capacity of the economy in the future. As of now, the Finance Ministry approved capital expenditure proposals worth Rs.9,880 crore for 27 states. Rs.4,940 crore was released to states as the first installment under this scheme.
