“Subiksha Hotel” project

“Subiksha Hotel” project was launched by the Kerala Government’s Food and Civil Supplies Department to provide food at a reasonable cost. Its purpose is to alleviate hunger in the state. It mainly targets tribal population, elderly people and orphanages.
The hotels under this project will be managed by women self-help group Kudumbashree. The meals will be given at a nominal rate of Rs.20. In the next six months, 139 of these hotels will be opened in all districts across the state. A grant of Rs.10 lakh will be provided for individual and institutions that are looking to start these hotels.
