Telangana launches Dharani portal for land and property registration
Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao launched first of its kind Dharani Portal at Muduchintalapalli village in Medchal-Malkajgiri. The portal will be used to store land records and for property registrations digitally. Thus, the need for a human interface and eliminating the scope for graft will be abolished. The application would prove to be a revolutionary system in the Revenue and Registration departments.
Property registrations would now be done without a human interface. Thus, it eliminates any scope for corruption. For now, the portal has been launched to register only the agricultural lands. It will also be launched for the non-agricultural lands registration later this month. TS was the first State in the country to use IT in its Revenue Department. Already, 1.45 crore acres belonging to around 59 lakh farmers, which were free of disputes, have been uploaded on the portal.
The portal would make the Telangana state free of land disputes. The ultimate objective of the government is to give conclusive land titles to the people.
