Tribal Affairs Minister to launch Two Centers of Excellence for Tribal Welfare

Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Shri Arjun Munda will launch two Centers of Excellence for Tribal Welfare. It will be launched in a collaboration between Ministry of Tribal Affairs and Art of Living (AoL).

First initiative-  ‘Strengthening PRIs’

This initiative will be launched in 5 districts. It will cover 30 Gram Panchayats and 150 villages of Jharkhand. The initiative would help in creating awareness among elected representatives of PRI.


  • The initiative would raise awareness about various Tribal Acts and Rules and different welfare schemes available for these tribals.
  • It will help tribals in getting access to these schemes.
  • It would create the youth volunteers among the tribal youths.
  • The volunteers would be given personality development training.
  • The initiative would also instill the sense of social responsibility among the youth.
  • The initiative seeks to create the tribal leaders who will work for their community in spreading this awareness.

Second Initiative – Training to Tribal Farmers

The initiative seeks to train 10000 tribal farmers in  Aurangabad District of Maharashtra. The farmers would be provided training on sustainable natural farming. The training would be based on Go-Adharith farming techniques. Training would help farmers in getting the Organic certification. Further, marketing opportunities will be made available to them in order to make them Atmanirbhar Tribal Farmers.
