Tso Kar Wetland

Tso Kar wetland complex, which has been recently added to the Ramsar Site, consists of 2 connected lakes, the freshwater Startspuk Tso and the larger hypersaline Tso Kar. Tso Kar wetland is at more than 4,500 meters above the sea level in the Changthang region of Ladakh. The name Tso Kar refers to salt efflorescence on the margins of the lake caused by the evaporation of saline waters.
