UK’s Action Plan for Animal Welfare

Action Plan for Animal Welfare was launched by the United Kingdom government recently to promote the welfare of pets, livestock and those animals living in the wilderness. It seeks to ban the export of live animals for slaughter, remote-controlled training collars and keeping primates as pets. Under this policy, it will become mandatory to microchip cats. This policy formally recognises animals as sentient beings.
