The Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate (MEF) is an international forum launched in 2009 to promote diplomatic dialogue between major developed and developing economies to create the political will required for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increase the supply of clean energy.
This year’s MEF was held recently ahead of the COP26 that will be organized later this year in Glasgow. It was hosted by US President Joe Biden on September 17. The event highlighted the urgency and the economic benefit of stronger climate action. It was built on the Leaders’ Summit on Climate conducted in April this year.
