World Braille Day

January 4 is marked as the World Braille Day to celebrate the importance of braille – a form of communication and written language for blind and visually challenged. This day commemorates the birth anniversary of Louis Braille, who invented braille on 1809. It creates awareness about braille language and other forms of communications and reminds of the importance accessibility to braille in key institutions like banks, hospitals etc.
