World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day

The World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day is observed on May 8 to honour the principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The day falls on the birth anniversary of the Noble laureate Henry Dunant, the founder of the International Committee on the Red Cross. The first Red Cross Day was observed in 1948. The theme for this year is “Unstoppable”.
