History of this day

n November 1996, the United Nations hosted the first World Television Forum. Leading media personalities attended the forum to discuss the growing importance of television around the world. UNGA then decided to mark November 21st as World Television Day.

Introduction of Television in India

Television was invented in the year 1924 by Scottish engineer John Logie Baird. In India, television was introduced in New Delhi on September 15, 1959, with the support of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
