Yamatosaurus izanagii

Yamatosaurus izanagii is a new species of hadrosaur or duck-billed dinosaur discovered on one of Japan’s southern islands called Awaji Island. This discovery revealed that these herbivores migrated from Asia to North America and not the other way round. The name of the dinosaur is derived from two terms – Yamato (ancient name for Japan) and Izanagi (god from Japanese mythology who created Japanese islands)
