The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has announced that Odisha will host the Indian Women’s League (IWL) this year. However, the dates of the event will be announced later.

- Indian football has restarted its sporting action. It all started with the I-League qualifiers, followed by the Indian Super League (ISL) and the I-League. ISL and I-League are currently being played.
- Indian women’s football has also got exposure at the international level in recent times with the senior India team coming together for a 2-month long training camp on December 1 in Goa. It was followed by three matches in Turkey, against Serbia, Russia, and Ukraine.
- AIFF also appreciated the efforts of the Odisha government in promoting the sport by providing its stadia and training facilities to the national teams across age groups, for both men and women.
- Indian Women’s League has always provided the platform for a lot of budding footballers to showcase their talent and provide them the option of taking up football as a career.
- India will be hosting the AFC women’s Asian Cup in 2022. It will be followed by the FIFA U-17 women’s World Cup. The Indian Women’s League will provide an opportunity for the scouts to unearth new talent for the national team.

It is the governing body of the football association in India. It was formed in the year 1937 and is headquartered in Dwarka, Delhi. It was also one of the founding members of the Asian Football Confederation.
