Chennai, formerly known as Madras, is the capital of Tamil Nadu. It is one of India’s largest cultural and economic hubs. The city houses the second largest beach in the world, Marina Beach. Chennai is renowned for its classical music and dance forms, particularly Bharatanatyam. The city has a rich colonial history and is home to the first-ever Indian Institute of Technology.
