WHO Scientific Advisory Group for the Origins of Novel Pathogens

The WHO Scientific Advisory Group for the Origins of Novel Pathogens (SAGO) is new expert body that will provide technical and scientific considerations regarding the origins of emerging and re-emerging pathogens whose outbreak can result in epidemic or pandemic. It will also guide the World Health Organisation on the next step towards understanding the origins of SARS-CoV-2.
The SAGO will consist of a wide range of experts acting in their personal capacity. The World Health Organization has called on experts to be part of this advisory group. It is help in the planning of future surveillance, early detection and mitigation against disease outbreaks.
