The 7th Economic Census was recently inaugurated in the National Capital Territory of Delhi. The Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation (MoSPI) is conducting this operation in partnership with the Common Service Centre (CSC), a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) that functions under the Ministry of Electronics and IT.
Embracing Digitalization
Unlike the previous editions, this year the census will be conducted using an IT-based digital platform. This modern technology will be utilized for data capturing, validation, report generation, and dissemination. This unique approach not only speeds up the process but also reduces the chances of error, thus increasing the accuracy of the data collected.
Training and Empowerment
A comprehensive training strategy has been devised to deliver training to enumerators and supervisors involved in the census. The purpose of this training is to familiarize these key personnel with the digital platform being used and equip them with the necessary skills to effectively capture, validate, and report the data obtained from across the nation.
