8th Edition of Raisina Dialogue

The Raisina Dialogue, India’s flagship conference on geopolitics and geo-strategy, is set to be organized in New Delhi from 15th to 17th March 2022. The conference is being hosted by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. This year’s theme for the Raisina Dialogue is “Provocation, Uncertainty, Turbulence: Lighthouse in the Tempest”. The event aims to address the global challenges arising from the ongoing pandemic, the rise of geopolitical tensions, and the emergence of new technologies and their impact on international relations.

Chief Guest and Participants

The Chief Guest of this year’s event is the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni. The event is expected to have representatives from over 100 countries, including ministers, military commanders, industry leaders, and experts from leading think tanks.

The event will also see the participation of prominent international figures, including former President of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai; former Prime Minister of Australia, Tony Abbott; former Prime Minister of Japan, Yukio Hatoyama; and former Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Dmitry Rogozin.

Sessions and Discussions

The Raisina Dialogue 2022 will feature a series of plenary sessions, panel discussions, and keynotes speeches, covering a wide range of topics related to global affairs. Some of the key sessions include:

Geo-economics and the Future of Global Trade: This session will focus on the emerging trends in global trade, the impact of the pandemic on trade flows, and the role of digital technologies in shaping the future of trade.

Climate Change and the Geopolitics of Energy:

The session will focus on the geopolitical implications of the energy transition, the role of renewable energy, and the impact of climate change on global Emerging Technologies and International Relations: The session will examine the impact of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, blockchain, and quantum computing, on international relations and the challenges they pose to global governance.

The Future of Democracy:

This session will discuss the challenges facing democracies around the world, including the rise of authoritarianism, the erosion of democratic norms and institutions, and the impact of new technologies on democratic processes.
