Alphabet ‘X’

Alphabet ‘X’

Twitter, the popular social media platform, has undergone a major transformation with a rebranding that marks the latest sweeping change since its acquisition by Elon Musk for a staggering $44 billion last year. The platform is now officially known as ‘X,’.

New ‘X’ Logo: A Symbol of Change

One of the most visible changes brought about by the rebranding is the replacement of Twitter’s iconic blue bird logo with a simple yet impactful white ‘X’ on a black background. The bird, which had become synonymous with Twitter, has now given way to a new identity that reflects the platform’s evolving vision.

The domain X.com now redirects to the ‘X’ platform, further cementing its new identity. This shift signals a departure from the past and hints at a bold new direction for the platform under Elon Musk’s leadership.

Official Account Transformation

The transformation extends to Twitter’s official account as well. The once familiar handle, @Twitter, has now been rebranded to ‘X.’ The account now features the new ‘X’ logo as its profile picture, and its bio reads “What’s happening?!” This change is likely to take some getting used to for Twitter users worldwide, but it underscores the platform’s commitment to the new identity.

Mobile Apps and Other Account Changes

While the mobile apps currently retain the familiar blue bird logo, it is expected that they will be updated soon to reflect the new branding. This move ensures consistency across all platforms and strengthens the association with the ‘X’ identity.

Moreover, several other Twitter-related accounts are also being rebranded. Accounts such as @TwitterCreator and @verified have already undergone the transition, displaying the new ‘X’ logo. However, the main support account, @TwitterSupport, still retains the blue bird logo as of now.

The ‘X’ Logo: More than Meets the Eye

The change in logo goes beyond aesthetics; it is a strategic step in transforming Twitter into an “everything app,” akin to China’s WeChat. The new ‘X’ app aims to offer users a wide array of services, from payment options to hotel bookings and beyond. By integrating various services within the platform, ‘X’ seeks to become an indispensable part of users’ daily lives.

Elon Musk’s Affinity for the Letter ‘X’

Elon Musk’s fascination with the letter ‘X’ is evident in several of his ventures. When he took over as Twitter CEO, he swiftly changed the company’s legal name to X Corp, marking the beginning of a series of significant changes. His space exploration company, SpaceX, also prominently features the letter ‘X,’ and Tesla’s first SUV model was named Model X.
