Astra Missile

Tejas LCA LSP-7, India’s native Light Combat Aircraft, effectively launched the indigenous ASTRA Beyond Visual Range (BVR) air-to-air missile off Goa’s coast. The missile, crafted by DRDO’s research units, is tailored for engaging and eliminating agile supersonic airborne targets. The accomplishment marks a significant stride for India’s self-reliance (Aatmanirbhar Bharat) in defense. Tejas, the lightest and smallest supersonic multi-role fighter, boasts air-to-air and air-to-surface weapon capabilities, air-to-air refueling, a 4000 kg payload, and a Mach 1.8 speed.
