The Bhasha Sangam Initiative?s objective is to teach school children basic everyday phrases in 22 different Indian languages. This initiative was started under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. The Ministry of Education is responsible for the implementation.

The basic idea of ??the initiative is that Indians need to acquire basic conversation skills in an Indian language other than their native language. This initiative began during the celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. On October 31st, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is observed to commemorate Shri Sardar Vallabhai Patel’s birthday.

This initiative strengthens the vision of national education policy for 2020. This policy focuses on promoting the language of India. This policy is intended to promote language learning as a skill. This new initiative will help students across the country embrace the nation?s linguistic diversity. This will help them to raise awareness of the richness of the culture of India.
Plan of the initiative
About 100 sentences are presented to school children in 22 different Indian languages. All of these 22 languages ??are on the 8th list of the Constitution of India. The text is presented so that children can read it in their respective languages. They are presented in the form of audio and video along with sign language. School children will become familiar with the pronunciations of various languages ??and their scripts. Approximately 22 pamphlets have been created to carry out this initiative. These books are available at E-Pathshala and DIKSHA. The pamphlet was developed by NCERT.
Features
This initiative is run by the State / UT School Education Department. A short dialogue consisting of five simple and frequently used sentences was designed in 22 languages ??for students of all grades. Sentences in each language are shared with students daily for 22 business days. Only one language is shared each day. A digital book containing audio recordings of the dialogue is available on the website http://epathshala.gov.in/ so that students can hear the correct pronunciation. A mobile app for accessing resources is also provided. The proposed activities should be carried out in a fun and interesting way. Students enjoyed and enthusiastically participated in the initiative no matter where it took place. This initiative is not mandatory and should not have a formal review. Principals can upload photos and videos of their daily activities at Bhasha Sangam. State / UT School Education Departments and DEOs and BEOs can also upload photos and videos of state and UT level, district, and block level activities. Government of India will recognize the best schools, best blocks, best states or UTs based on uploaded photos and videos.
Objective of this initiative
The Bhasha Sangam Initiative has set a goal of at least 75,00,000 people to acquire the ability to learn daily sentences in 22 different languages ??during the “Azadi ka amrit Mahotsav” period. This initiative also aims to enhance linguistic tolerance as well as promote and respect national integration.
Bhasha Sangam mobile application
Bhasha Sangam mobile application was launched at the start of the initiative. The app was developed by Multibhashi. Mobile app-based quizzes have also started. The quiz contains about 10,000 questions about different states in India.
