Brexit

Brexit is the withdrawal of the United Kingdom (UK) from the European Union (EU) after a referendum in June 2016. In the referendum, 52% voted in favor of leaving the EU and 48% voted to remain a member. This referendum was then led by Theresa May. The UK Parliament finally ratified the withdrawal agreement on January 31, 2020 and the UK left the EU. The UK still remains a subject to EU law, EU customs union and single market during the transition period which is undergoing. But it is no longer part of the EU’s political bodies or institutions.
