India’s First AI Data Centre Park

India’s First AI Data Centre Park

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated India’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based data centre park in Nava Raipur. This landmark project spans 5.5 hectares and aims to revolutionise the state’s digital landscape. It will support various sectors including healthtech and fintech, marking step in India’s technological advancement.

Project Overview

The data centre park will operate under RackBank Datacenters Private Limited. The first phase will commence with a capacity of 5 megawatts, with plans to expand up to 150 megawatts. A portion of the park, 2.7 hectares, is designated as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) focused on AI services. The total investment is projected to reach ₹2,000 crore.

Employment Opportunities

The project is expected to create around 2,000 jobs, prioritising local residents. This includes 500 direct jobs and 1,500 indirect jobs. The initiative aims to empower youth and enhance local economies by providing high-tech employment opportunities within the state.

Technological Infrastructure

The data centre will feature GPU-based high-performance computing infrastructure. It will offer services such as AI processing, data analytics, and live data streaming. This setup aligns with global standards, establishing Chhattisgarh as a competitive player in the tech industry.

Impact on Agriculture and Rural Communities

The park will facilitate smart farming through AI tools. Farmers will benefit from accurate weather forecasting and crop management solutions. Additionally, remote tribal communities will gain access to essential services like telemedicine and e-education.

Digital Self-Reliance

Chhattisgarh aims to manage both domestic and international data traffic through this facility. This will reduce reliance on external data infrastructure. The initiative is important step towards making the state digitally self-reliant.

Vision for the Future

The data centre park is described as the “digital backbone for a new era of growth and empowerment.” CM Vishnu Deo Sai envisions a future where Chhattisgarh is a hub for high-tech businesses, transforming the state into a key player in India’s digital economy.

Green Technology

The project emphasises the use of green and energy-efficient technologies. This commitment to sustainability is integral to the park’s design and operations, ensuring that technological advancement does not come at the cost of environmental degradation.
