The first Leaders’ Summit of the Quadrilateral Framework is being held virtually on March 12, 2021. PM Modi will participate in the summit.

- Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, and President of U.S.A. Joseph R. Biden will also participate in the summit.
- The Leaders will be discussing global and regional issues of shared interest, and exchange views on practical areas of cooperation towards maintaining a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific region.
- The Summit will provide a platform for exchanging views on contemporary challenges like emerging and critical technologies, resilient supply chains, maritime security, and climate change.
- The Leaders will also discuss ongoing efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic and explore opportunities for collaboration in ensuring safe, equitable, and affordable vaccines in the Indo-Pacific region.
In the Quad ministerial summit that was held in February, the four nations had discussed the need for international cooperation to ensure equitable access to vaccines, especially in developing countries. India has already shipped out more than 48 million doses worldwide and is expected to request Quad investment in order to scale up its outreach further.
QUAD
It is a forum between four countries- India, Japan, Australia, and the US. It was established in the year 2007. The forum is maintained through military drills, information exchanges, and summits.
