A four-year integrated teacher training program was launched as part of National Education Policy 2020. This program is offered by 50 institutions throughout India.

It’s a double bachelor’s degree. It is offered as part of the Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP). BA and BSc degrees integrated with B Ed under this programme. This program helps students save a year. After the student graduated, it took five years to pursue B Ed degree. The National Council for Teacher Education designed the curriculum for degree programs. The National Teacher Education Council is subordinate to the Ministry of Education. The four-year ITEP is open to all students who choose to become teachers after graduating.
The National Education Policy of 2020 states that teacher involvement will only take place through this programme from the year 2030. NS. An integrated teacher education program will be held. Some changes to the curriculum has been made by the new education policy. This includes education in the national language. The newly created course will also help prepare teachers according to policies and new curriculum.
Admission to the program is granted by the National Testing Agency. The NTA conducts a national joint entrance examination to select candidates who are ready to take the course. This course must be offered by an interdisciplinary institution. And the course should be the minimum qualification for all future school teachers. The course is scheduled to start in the year 2022-23.
Options under the course
This course has two options: a one-year B Ed degree and a two-year B Ed degree. The 2-year B-Ed option is for applicants with a bachelor’s degree. The one-year B Ed, on the other hand, is intended for candidates with a degree equivalent to a four-year bachelor’s degree. The 2-year BE d course is also open to PG holders. Participants in such a one-year course will later be hired as subject teachers for the subject related to PG and UG level subjects.
