GREAT Scheme

The Union Ministry of Textiles has introduced the guidelines for the Grant for Research and Entrepreneurship across Aspiring Innovators in Technical Textiles (GREAT) Scheme. This initiative aims to bolster the technical textiles startup ecosystem in India, particularly in areas like sustainable textiles, speciality fibers, and smart textiles. Under the scheme, grants of up to Rs 50 lakh will be provided for 18 months to aid prototype-to-product translation. Incubators like IITs, NITs, and Textiles Research Associations will play a crucial role.
