Gyalsung Infra Project

India has provided a grant of Rs. 2 Billion to Bhutan for the Gyalsung Infra Project. The project aims to empower the youth of Bhutan and build a strong foundation for the country’s future. The first tranche of the grant of Rs. 1 Billion was presented to the Project Director of Gyalsung Infra by the Indian Ambassador to Bhutan.

Empowering Bhutan’s youth

The Gyalsung Infra Project is one of Bhutan’s most ambitious infrastructure development projects. The project aims to build critical infrastructure in the country and is designed to empower the youth of Bhutan. The project is being implemented by the Bhutanese government and is funded by the Government of India.

The funds provided by India will be used for the DeSuung for Gyalsung (DFG) program, which will train around 11,000 volunteers in infrastructure construction over the next two years. The program is expected to generate employment opportunities and equip the youth with skills that will help them in the future.

Gyalsung project

The Gyalsung project is a 1-year integrated training program, including Basic Military Training and technical skills training in various fields. The program is designed to prepare the Bhutanese youth to be self-reliant and to provide them with skills that will help them contribute to the country’s development. The project has three main objectives: to build critical infrastructure, to provide skills training to the youth, and to promote self-reliance in Bhutan.

India’s commitment to Bhutan

India has been a strong supporter of Bhutan’s development for many years. The two countries share a special relationship based on mutual trust and respect. India has provided significant financial and technical assistance to Bhutan over the years. In addition to the grant for the Gyalsung Infra Project, India has also committed to providing planning assistance of Rs.50 Billion to Bhutan.

The grant for the Gyalsung Infra Project is part of India’s commitment to helping Bhutan achieve its development goals. The project is expected to create job opportunities and provide skills training to the youth of Bhutan. The project will also help build critical infrastructure in the country and promote self-reliance.
