The Railway Board of India, in collaboration with the University of Birmingham, has recently announced the commencement of an exclusive joint masters programme. This programme, focusing on Railway Systems Engineering and Integration, is set to start in the academic year 2020-2021 under the authority of the National Rail Transportation Institute (NRTI). This unique initiative brings several benefits to the students, faculty and the railway sector as a whole.
Key Points
The primary goal of this initiative is to offer NRTI students access to world-class expertise and facilities specializing in railway systems at the Birmingham Centre for Railway Research and Education (BCRRE). This will give the students a rare opportunity to learn from some of the best minds in the industry.
Additionally, BCRRE will have an unparalleled chance to gain a deep understanding of India’s transport sector. They will be able to involve themselves in relevant research and development issues, thereby contributing to the advancement of the sector.
This innovative collaboration was initiated under the Centre of Excellence for Next-Generation Transportation Systems, which was established by means of a MoU signed by the NRTI and the University of Birmingham back in 2019.
About National Rail Transport Institute
