India-UN Capacity Building Initiative

India-UN Capacity Building Initiative

India and the United Nations have introduced the “India-UN Capacity Building Initiative” aimed at enhancing the capabilities of countries in the Global South. The initiative seeks to share India’s developmental expertise, best practices, and experiences through training programs. It builds on India’s commitment to promoting Global South participation, as seen during its G20 Presidency. This collaboration leverages India’s Technical and Economic Cooperation platform and involves the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. It aligns with the G20 Action Plan for advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and improving technology and digital infrastructure. The Global South includes economically less developed regions in Africa, Latin America, Asia, and Oceania.
